André Boucher is the Assistant Deputy Minister of Operations for the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security. André is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Cyber Centre.

Prior to the appointment to his current role as Assistant Deputy Minister, André was the Director General of the Cyber Security Partnerships directorate, and was responsible for providing IT security advice, guidance and services to Canadian private sector organizations. In this position, André led strategic and collaborative cyber security partnerships to raise the cyber security maturity across the entire Canadian ecosystem of critical infrastructure and provinces. André also worked as the Director of the IT Security Review Program, operating distinct targeted programs aimed at mitigating the important risks within the supply chain.

André joined CSE upon retirement from the Royal Canadian Air Force. During his military career as a Communications and Electronics Engineering Officer, he led a variety of operational and technical teams in Canada, NORAD and NATO. Certified as a Project Management Professional since 2002, he also managed several successful national and international projects. His last assignment as Director of Cyber Force Development focused on establishing all necessary elements required to enable the Canadian Armed Forces to operate successfully in the cyber environment.

André holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He also holds a Master’s degree in Defence Study from the Canadian Defence Academy and was a Fellow of the 2012 National Security Studies Programme at Syracuse University.

Cloud security issues are a key focus at this year’s COUNTERMEASURE IT Security Conference, with in depth training as well as key presentation from industry leaders. Graham Thompson, who participated in our 2017 cloud security panel discussion, leads an intensive three day training course, Cloud Security Fundamentals & FedRAMP. IBM’s Jeff Crume will be giving a keynote presentation on Security in the Clouds, and Teri Radichel will present on Top Priorities for Cloud Application Security. For institutions with a cloud infrastructure, these sessions should not be missed.

Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek join our growing list of speakers at COUNTERMEASURE 2018.  Their presentation on Security Self-Driving Cars will explore the future security issues of this emerging sector. 

In the not too distant future, we'll live in a world where computers are driving our cars. Soon, cars may not even have steering wheels or brake pedals. But, in this scenario, should we be worried about cyber attack of these vehicles? In this talk, two researchers who have headed self-driving car security teams for multiple companies will discuss how self driving cars work, how they might be attacked, and how they can ultimately be secured.
